Fyrsta þing starfsársins var NOM sem haldið var á Zoom 14. október síðastliðinn. NOM stendur fyrir Nordiskt Ordförande Møte og er samnorrænt- og baltneskt þing sem haldið er tvisvar á hverju skólaári. NOM er vettvangur þar sem að stúdentafélögum gefst tækifæri til þess að deila reynslu, hugmyndum, þekkingu og er félögum því gefið tækifæri til þess að læra af hvor öðrum. Einn gestanna sem hélt kynningu á sínu starfi var frá samtökunum SAIH (Norwegian Students‘ and Academics‘ International Assistance Fund). Eitt meginverkefni þeirra samtaka er að veita nemendum stuðning sem hafa verið ofsóttir af ýmsum ástæðum en aðallega vegna þátttöku í pólitísku starfi. Þá er nemendunum sem koma til Noregs á vegum SAIH boðið að ljúka háskólanámi þar.
Næsta NOM verður skipulagt af LÍS og er vonast til þess að hægt verði að halda það í raunheimum í apríl 2022. Það væri þá fyrsta NOM sem haldið yrði í persónu síðan að COVID-19 hófst. Stefnt er á að þema þess verði minnihlutahópar innan háskóla.

The first assembly of the year was NOM, which was held on Zoom on October 14th. NOM stands for “Nordic Organisational Meeting” and is a joint Nordic and Baltic congress held twice each school year. NOM is a forum where student associations are given the opportunity to share experience, ideas, knowledge. Members are therefore given the opportunity to learn from each other. One of the guests who presented his work was from the organization SAIH (Norwegian Students 'and Academics' International Assistance Fund, in Norwegian: Studentenes og Akademikernes Internasjonale Hjelpefond). One of the main tasks of these organizations is to provide students support who have been persecuted for various reasons, but mainly due to participation in political work. Students who come to Norway under SAIH are invited to complete their university studies there.
The next NOM will be organized by LÍS and it is hoped that it will be possible to hold it in-person in April 2022. It would be the first NOM to be held in-person since COVID-19 began. The aim is for its theme to be minority groups within universities.
