Landssamtök íslenskra stúdenta auglýsa eftir áhugasömum einstaklingum í nefndir samtakanna en þær eru gæðanefnd, lagabreytingarnefnd, fjármálanefnd, alþjóðanefnd og jafnréttisnefnd.

Hvað eru LÍS?

Landssamtök íslenskra stúdenta, eða LÍS, voru stofnuð 3. nóvember 2013 og eru samtök háskólanema á Íslandi sem og íslenskra háskólanema á erlendri grundu. LÍS eru regnhlífarsamtök og standa að þeim átta aðildarfélög sem eru í forsvari fyrir stúdenta við Háskólann á Akureyri, Háskólann á Bifröst, Landbúnaðarháskóla Íslands, Listaháskóla Íslands, Háskólann í Reykjavík, Háskólann á Hólum, Háskóla Íslands og fyrir íslenska stúdenta sem stunda nám erlendis. LÍS er því í forsvari fyrir rúmlega 20 þúsund íslenska stúdenta.

Fyrir nefndum LÍS fara sex af átta embættum í framkvæmdastjórn; gæðastjóri, varaforseti, fjáröflunarstjóri, alþjóðafulltrúi, markaðsstjóri og jafnréttisfulltrúi.

Hvernig sæki ég um?

Opið er fyrir umsóknir frá 29. ágúst til og með 13. september. Sótt er um hér. Í umsókn skal koma fram nafn og tölvupóstfang en í viðhengi skal setja ferilskrá og kynningarbréf.

Við hvetjum einstaklinga af öllum kynjum til að sækja um þær lausu stöður sem í boði eru. Nánari upplýsingar um nefndirnar og laus sæti í hverri nefnd er að nálgast hér að neðan.

Gæðanefnd
Brennur þú fyrir eflingu íslensks háskólaumhverfis? Þá er gæðanefndin fyrir þig!
Nefndin starfar náið með fjölbreyttum einstaklingum og stofnunum á landsvísu sem vinna að eflingu gæða háskólanáms svo sem Rannís og Gæðaráði íslenskra háskóla. Mörg ný og skemmtileg verkefni eru á döfinni starfsárið 2019-2020 en nefndin mun meðal annars:

Aðstoða við gerð hlaðvarpsins Stúdentaspjallið sem leit dagsins ljós síðastliðin nóvember
Kynna stefnu LÍS um gæði í íslensku háskólaumhverfi
Kynna stúdentafulltrúum fyrir gæðastörfum með aðstoð leiðarvísis sem unnin var út frá gæðahandbók Rannís (QEF II)
Hefja vinnu við að styrkja starf aðildarfélaga samtakanna með nýju krefjandi verkefni að írskri fyrirmynd.

Öll verkefnin hafa það að markmiði að auka þekkingu á gæðamálum meðal íslenskra stúdenta sem og að efla þátttöku þeirra í gæðastarfi háskólanna. Um er að ræða einstakt tækifæri til að efla gæði háskólanáms á Íslandi. Við óskum eftir þremur metnaðarfullum og vinnusömum einstaklingum í nefndina.

Lagabreytingarnefnd
Lagabreytinganefnd LÍS sér um endurskoðun á lögum og verklagi LÍS á hverju ári. Tryggja þarf að lögin séu í samræmi við starf samtakanna og einnig að samtökin fylgi þeim í hvívetna. Þátttaka í lagabreytingarnefnd gerir einstaklingum kleift að að bæta skilvirkni og starf samtakanna. Óskað er eftir einstaklingum sem hafa áhuga á lögum og lagabreytingum. Lögfræðiþekking er ekki skilyrði en þó kostur. Laus sæti í nefndinni eru fjögur.

Fjármálanefnd
Fjármálanefnd sér um utanumhald fjármála LÍS auk fjáröflunar samtakanna og helstu viðburða. Nefndin sér um að byggja upp samstarf samtakanna við fyrirtæki í gegnum þjónustusamninga eða styrktarveitingu sem og gerð styrkjaumsókna hjá stærri fyrirtækjum. Ár hvert halda samtökin landsþing þar sem fulltrúar frá öllum aðildarfélögum LÍS koma saman. Það er því stórt verkefni nefndarinnar að fjármagna þingið með styrkjum. Leitað er að þremur áhugasömum aðilum til að sitja í fjármálanefnd auk fjármálastjóra.

Alþjóðanefnd
Alþjóðanefnd LÍS sinnir alþjóðlegum skuldbindingum LÍS, sækir fróðleik til alþjóðlegra stúdenta og færir þann fróðleik heim til Íslands. Nefndin sinnir undirbúningsvinnu og úrvinnslu í kringum alla alþjóðlega viðburði sem fulltrúar LÍS sækja, en á starfsárinu 2019-2020 munu nefndarmeðlimir einnig skipuleggja málstofu um alþjóðamál sem tengjast stúdentum og háskólasamfélagi. Laus sæti í nefndinni eru fjögur.

Jafnréttisnefnd
Jafnréttisnefnd heldur utan um verkefni og viðburði LÍS sem tengjast jafnréttismálum. Nefndin ber ábyrgð á því að jafnrétti sé framfylgt í öllum málum og skal vera framkvæmdarstjórn LÍS til ráðgjafar í störfum og málefnum stjórnar. Auk þess munu nefndarmeðlimir sinna allskyns spennandi verkefnum á komandi starfsári, t.d. skipuleggja málstofu um jafnréttismál sem tengjast stúdentum og háskólasamfélagi, skipuleggja sameiginlegan fund jafnréttisnefnda og jafnréttisfulltrúa háskólanna og aðstoða við gerð hlaðvarpsins Stúdentaspjallið svo eitthvað sé nefnt. Við hvetjum alla sem hafa áhuga til að hika ekki við að sækja um. Fjölmennum í nefndir LÍS og aukum fjölbreytileikann!

Are you interested in social activities? Are you enthusiastic about fighting for students’ rights? Do you want to have an influence? Do you want to work with students from all over the country?

The National Union of Icelandic Students (LÍS) is looking for interested personnel for the Unions’ committees. The committees are: the Quality Assurance Committee, Legislative Committee, Finance Committee, International Committee and Equal Rights Committee.

What is LÍS?

The National Union of Icelandic Students, or LÍS, was founded on November 3rd, 2013, and is a union for students of higher education in Iceland and for Icelandic students abroad. LÍS is an umbrella organization within which there are eight member unions that represent the students of the University of Akureyri, Bifröst University, the Agricultural University of Iceland, Iceland University of the Arts, Hólar University College, University of Iceland, University of Reykjavik and for Icelandic students that study abroad. LÍS therefore represents about 20 thousand students.

How do I apply?

Applications are open from August 29th until September 13th. You can apply here. The application should include your name, email address and you are also required to put in your CV and a short introduction letter. We encourage individuals of every gender to apply for the available positions.

Quality Assurance Committee
Do you burn for the improvement of the Icelandic system of higher education? Then the Quality Assurance Committee is something for you!
The Committee is responsible for the engagement of students in quality assurance nationwide and works closely with other units and institutions that work on the improvement of the quality of higher education. E.g. the Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNÍS) and the Quality Council of Icelandic Universities. The committee has many exciting projects coming up in this working year, but the Committee will among other things:

Assist with the production of LÍS’s podcast, Stúdentaspjallið, which was launched last October.
To promote the union’s quality assurance policy
Strengthen the member unions of LÍS with a new and challenging project.

All projects have a goal of promoting knowledge of quality matters among Icelandic students and inspire their participation. This is a unique opportunity to improve the quality of higher education in Iceland. There are three available seats in the Committee.

Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee reviews LÍS´s standing orders and procedures each year. It must be ensured that the standing orders are in line with the work of the organization and also that the organization follows them in full. The Legislative committee provides a great opportunity to improve the efficiency and general work of the association. The Legislative Committee wishes for applicants interested in law and legal amendments. Knowledge of law is not necessary, but beneficial. There are four available seats in the committee.

The Finance Committee
The Finance Committee provides financial oversight for LÍS, as well as funding for the Union and its biggest events. The Committee takes care of building up and maintaining cooperation between the Union and companies through service contracts or grants, as well as working on grant applications within bigger companies. LÍS hosts an annual general assembly attended by delegates from its member unions. It is therefore a big task of the Committee to provide funding for that through grants. Three interested individuals are wanted to sit in the Committee along with the Financial Officer.

The International Committee
The International Committee is responsible for the international obligations of LÍS. It gathers knowledge from foreign student unions and brings that knowledge back to Iceland. The committee prepares for and reports on all international events that LÍS delegates attend. For the work year 2019-2020, committee members will plan and host a symposium on international issues as they pertain to students and university life. There are four available seats in the committee.

The Equal Rights Committee
The Equal Rights Committee is involved in and responsible for tasks and events that LÍS undertakes which involve equality affairs. The Committee is responsible for overseeing that equality is implemented in all of LÍS’ affairs and shall guide and advise the Executive Committee of LÍS in all matters concerning equality. During the school year of 2019-2020 the Equality Rights Committee will also be involved in a number of projects. They will take the lead in organizing an equality seminar, will take part in the organization of a meeting between equality committees and equality officers from all of the Icelandic universities, and last but not least they will assist in preparing podcast episodes for Stúdentaspjallið, which focus’ on equality and equal rights. We urge everyone who’s interested to apply for the Equal Rights Committee. Let’s celebrate diversity and work together to improve the life of students everywhere!
