Landssamtök Íslenskra stúdenta (LÍS) leita að einstaklingi í stöðu áheyrnarfulltrúa stúdenta í Gæðaráð Íslenskra Háskóla. Gæðaráðið ber ábyrgð á framkvæmd og yfirsýn á rammaáætlun um eflingu gæða á sviði æðri menntunar á íslandi (QEF). Markmið QEF er að efla gæði kennslu og rannsókna í íslenskum háskólum.

Gæðaráð samanstendur af gæðasérfræðingum en LÍS hefur þar tvo fulltrúa, einn stjórnarmeðlim og einn áheyrnarfulltrúa. Hlutverk áheyrnarfulltrúa er að aðstoða erlenda stúdentafulltrúann og tryggja samskipti á milli þeirra og LÍS.

Almennar upplýsingar:

• Frestur til að sækja um stöðuna er til og með 30 janúar 2020.

• Athuga skal að staðan er ólaunuð en er hinsvegar ómetanleg starfsreynsla.

• Áheyrnarfulltrúinn sinnir hlutverkinu frá upphafi mars 2020 til mars 2022.

• LÍS mun taka viðtöl við umsækjendur og að lokum tilnefna áheyrnarfulltrúa.

• Allir fundir Gæðaráðs og skjöl verða á ensku.

• Skyldufundir verða haldnir að minnsta kosti fjórum sinnum á ári og stendur hver fundur í um tvo heila daga.

• Fundir fara fram á Íslandi en mögulega verða gerðar undantekningar á því.

• Núverandi stjórnarformaður er Andrée Sursock.

• Áheyrnarfulltrúi og aðalfulltrúi skulu funda með LÍS fyrir og/eða eftir skyldufundi Gæðaráðs.

Hæfniskröfur:

• Umsækjandi þarf að vera innritaður í háskóla eða hafa verið í háskólanámi á síðast liðnum tveimur árum.

• Kostur er að umsækjandi hafi reynslu í hagsmunabaráttu stúdenta, gæðamálum eða sambærilegu starfi

• Hafa skilning á uppbyggingu háskólakerfisins.

• Góð enskukunnátta.

• Góð færni í mannlegum samskiptum og vinnur vel í hóp.

• Sveigjanleiki til að tryggja mætingu á fundi.

The National Union of Icelandic students (LÍS) is looking for applicants to fill the position of a student observer in the Icelandic Quality Board for higher education. The Quality Board is responsible for the implementation and overview of the Quality Enhancement Framework (QEF) for Higher Education in Iceland. The purpose of the QEF is to secure the standards of degrees and awards in Icelandic higher education institutions, and systematically enhance both the students’ learning experience and the management of research efforts at the universities.

The Quality Board consists of a group of Quality Assurance experts of which LÍS has two members, one student with full membership and one observer student member. The role of the student observer member is to aid the full student representative and ensure communication between them and LÍS.

Practicalities:

• Deadline to apply for the position is the 30th of January 2020.

• Please be aware that this position is unpaid but it is an invaluable experience.

• This is a 2-year position, starting in the beginning of March 2020 and ending in March 2022. 

• LÍS will interview possible candidates and eventually nominate a candidate to represent students.

• All meetings of the Quality Board and documentation will be conducted in English.

• Mandatory meetings will be held at least four times a year and each meeting will take about two days.

• Meetings will take place in Iceland, with possible exceptions.

• The current chair of the Board is Andrée Sursock.

• During mandatory meetings in Iceland with the Quality Board, LÍS expects the student representative to attend a mandatory meeting with LÍS during the visit.

Application criteria:

• Have been registered at a University for at least 2 years.

• It is an advantage to have some experience in student interest work, quality assurance or other similar duties.

• Have an understanding of the structure of the Higher Education system in Iceland

• Above-average English speaking skills

• Excellent communication and social skills and works well in a group.

• A flexible schedule to be able to attend mandatory meetings.
