Fulltrúinn þarf að vera laus yfir allan daginn, dagana sem úttektin fer fram: 26.-30. október. Um er að ræða launaða stöðu en stúdentafulltrúinn fær greiddar 500.000 ISK fyrir starfið. Ferðir og fæði er greitt af Gæðaráði íslenskra háskóla og sömuleiðis hótelgisting. Þekking og reynsla af gæðastarfi er kostur.
Í handbók Gæðaráðs kemur fram að LÍS skuli tilnefna fulltrúa stúdenta frá aðildarfélögum sínum. Þar koma einnig fram eftirfarandi skilyrði:
Tilnefndur fulltrúi þarf annaðhvort að vera í háskólanámi eða hafa lokið námi fyrir minna en ári síðan.
Fulltrúinn má ekki vera úr sömu stofnun og verið er að taka út, þ.e. má ekki vera þar í námi núna eða hafa verið þar í námi áður.
Auk þess má fulltrúinn ekki hafa náin tengsl við stofnunina í gegnum fjölskyldutengsl - að náinn fjölskyldumeðlimur stundi nám við stofnunina eða starfi við hana. Úttektarteymið mun þurfa að skrifa undir yfirlýsingu til staðfestingar á því að engir hagsmunaárekstrar séu til staðar.
Stúdentafulltrúinn þarf að vera vel talandi og skrifandi á ensku.

The representative must be available when the review takes place: 26.-30. October. This is a paid position, the student representative is paid ISK 500,000 for the job. Travel and food are paid for by the Quality Council of Icelandic universities, as well as hotel accommodation. Knowledge and experience of quality work is an advantage.
The Quality Enhancement handbook states that LÍS shall nominate student representative from its member associations.
It also states the following conditions:
The representative must either be in university or have completed their studies less than a year ago.
The representative may not be from the same institution as is being reviewed, ie. may not be studying there now or have studied there before.
In addition, the representative must not have a close relationship with the organization through family ties - that a close family member studies or works with the organization. The audit team will need to sign a declaration confirming that there is no conflict of interest.
The student representative must be fluent in spoken and written in English.
