Opið fyrir framboð í framkvæmdastjórn // Candidacy for LÍS’ Executive Committee is Open

Í dag, átta vikum fyrir Landsþing, opnar fyrir framboð í framkvæmdastjórn LÍS fyrir starfsárið 2021-2022. Þó að okkur í framkvæmdastjórn líði eins og kjörtímabil okkar sé rétt að byrja þá er strax komið að því að finna flott fólk til að taka við keflinu! Framboðsfrestur er til 19. febrúar, en hafir þú áhuga skaltu senda kynningarbréf og ferilskrá á kjorstjorn@studentar.is. Kosið er í embætti á Landsþingi sunnudaginn 7. mars, en tíminn frá þinginu að skiptafundi í lok maí í nýtist í að þjálfa nýja stjórn upp í hlutverkin. Við hvetjum frambjóðendur til þess að kynna sér lög og verklag samtakanna vel, en nánari upplýsingar um hvert embætti má einmitt finna þar. Þú getur líka haft samband við sitjandi embættismenn, en tengiliða upplýsingar má finna hér.

Mikilvægar upplýsingar:

• Starfsárið hefst í júní 2021 og er til maí 2022.

• Vinnutungumál LÍS er íslenska.

  • Efni til birtingar er bæði á ensku og íslensku en fundargögn eru almennt á íslensku.

• Kjörgengi hafa…

  • Öll sem stunda háskólanám á Íslandi og/eða eru meðlimir í aðildarfélagi LÍS. (getur til dæmis verið í námi erlendis en samt hluti af SÍNE!)

  • Frambjóðendur mega hafa lokið námi, ef það eru innan við tvö ár frá námslokum.

• Tvær stöður eru launaðar (forseti og varaforseti) en hinar eru sjálfboðaliðavinna.

  • Vinnuálag endurspeglar að einhverju marki þessa skiptingu, forseti er almennt í 100% vinnu og varaforseti í 40%. Vinnustundir hinna embættanna fara eftir eðli hlutverksins, en samtökin eiga því miður ekki tök á því að launa allar stöður (vonandi á næstu árum!).

Today, eight weeks before the National Assembly, LÍS opens the call for candidates for next year’s Executive Committee. Although we in the current Executive Committee feel like our term just started, it's already time to find some great people to take over! The application deadline is February 19th, if you are interested please send an introductory letter and CV to kjorstjorn@studentar.is. Elections will take place at the National Assembly on Sunday March 7th, and the time from the assembly to the hand-over meeting at the end of May will be used to train the new committee for their respective roles. We encourage candidates to familiarize themselves with the union’s laws and procedures, as more information about each position can be found there. Important information:

• The next operating year will begin in June 2021 and last until May 2022.

• LÍS' working language is Icelandic.

  • Our published information is in Icelandic and English but meeting documents are generally in Icelandic.

• Eligability to run…

  • Any university student in Iceland and/or member of an Icelandic student union (e.g. member of SÍNE, the union if Icelandic students abroad).

  • Candidates may have finished studying, as long as they have been a student within the last two years.

• Two positions are salaried (president and vice-president) and the others are volunteers.

  • This division is reflected in the workload, the president generally works full time and the vice-president part time (40%). The work our for the other roles vary depending on the nature of the work, but unfortunately the union is unable to compensate all executive committee members (this will hopefully change in the next few years!)
